MRSIGN
signs & graphic arts
Background
The Beginning
We began as a small family in the graphic arts business in 1977. For many years we labored using the basic methods to produce many types of signs. Logo design, brand identification and promotion was a large portion of our work. In May of 2011 We started the Commercial sign company.
The Dawn of Technology
In the early 1980’s our business took some turns as technology was utilized in the industry. We began to employ computers to cut roll vinyl for lettering, replacing hand painting for vinyl signage. I attended one short course for advanced sign painting techniques. I attended training for acquiring a specialty license for our trade. I qualified for our contractor’s license in 2011 and our company is proud to be a small, woman owned business.
Advancement
As the technology advanced, we took several steps to follow with equipment. The 1990’s were mostly about vinyl for signs and vehicles with some other types of work included. When the federal ADA laws were put into place, we began to work with contractors on public works projects, providing signage with Braille for the visually impaired. Our company holds a license for the Raster Braille technique. We have continued in this type of work, adding new vinyl cutting plotters, digital printers (Summa DC4xs) and a small format 45 watt laser for cutting/engraving projects.
